1. Platform Identification
LexMate Law (legal entity to be confirmed) (“LexMate”, “we”, “us”) operates the online platform available at lexmatelaw.com (the “Platform”).
Company details (registered office, RCSL number, contact email) will be displayed on the Platform.
2. Definitions
- Client: any individual using the Platform to search for or contact Lawyers.
- Lawyer: an independent legal professional registered on the Platform.
- Introduction / Introduced: a Client is considered introduced to a Lawyer if a match is presented, a profile is revealed, a chat is opened, a meeting is requested, or any interaction is enabled via the Platform.
- Engagement: any agreement (oral or written), instruction, mandate, paid consultation, invoice issuance, or commencement of work between Client and Lawyer, whether concluded on or off the Platform, following an Introduction.
3. Nature and Scope of LexMate Services
LexMate is a technology intermediary providing matchmaking and communication infrastructure.
LexMate is not a law firm, does not provide legal advice, and is not a party to any contract between Client and Lawyer.
4. AI-Assisted Features (Assistive Only)
The Platform may use AI tools strictly to:
- structure and summarise information provided by Clients,
- suggest matches based on preferences and Lawyer profiles,
- generate non-binding explanations of why a match may be relevant.
AI outputs are informational only, do not constitute legal advice, and do not produce automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects. The Client remains solely responsible for choosing a Lawyer.
5. On-Platform Communication Requirement
Clients must communicate with Lawyers exclusively via the Platform.
Clients must not request, share, or use off-platform contact details (email, phone, messaging apps, social networks, physical address, links) in any form.
6. Non-Circumvention (Anti-Leakage)
Clients agree not to circumvent LexMate by engaging, contracting, or paying any Lawyer introduced via the Platform outside of the Platform for twelve (12) months following Introduction.
This obligation applies to direct or indirect engagement (including via third parties) and survives account termination.
7. Fees, Payments, and Third-Party PSP
Where payments are enabled, payments for legal services are processed by a licensed third-party payment service provider (“PSP”).
LexMate does not hold, store, custody, or control Client funds.
8. Commission Trigger and No Outcome-Based Liability (Important)
LexMate’s services are strictly limited to the introduction and matching of Clients and Lawyers.
Any LexMate fee/commission model is triggered exclusively upon the formation of an Engagement between the Client and the Lawyer following an Introduction.
LexMate fees/commission are not dependent on:
- the continuation of the relationship,
- the outcome of the legal matter,
- satisfaction of either party,
- or the final result of legal services.
LexMate bears no responsibility or liability for the execution, performance, duration, or outcome of legal services.
9. Disclaimers
LexMate does not guarantee:
- availability, responsiveness, or suitability of any Lawyer,
- that any legal matter will be successful,
- any specific outcome or timeframe.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, LexMate’s total liability towards a Client is limited to the amount of fees actually paid by that Client to LexMate during the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
11. Enforcement and Compliance Monitoring
To protect the integrity of the Platform and prevent circumvention, LexMate may implement reasonable compliance controls (including automated detection of contact-sharing patterns and review of flagged messages), in accordance with applicable law and the Privacy Policy.
12. Suspension and Termination
LexMate may suspend or terminate a Client account immediately for breach (including contact exchange or circumvention), without compensation.
13. Data Protection
Personal data is processed under GDPR and as described in the Privacy Policy, which forms an integral part of these Terms.
14. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by Luxembourg law. Exclusive jurisdiction lies with the courts of Luxembourg.
